Shorinji Kempo is a great way to teach children the value of hard work and discipline. Classes are fun, but challenging for all ages. In our dojo, students of all levels are expected to help each other as part of the philosophy of Shorinji Kempo. Instead of an intimidating atmosphere, kids learn to look forward to practice and learning martial arts in a friendly setting which is non-competitive. As they progress and become more comfortable, we build their confidence and skill by providing progressively difficult challenges until they are ready for the adult class. We accept children as young as 5 years old, but it really depends on their individual attention level. We encourage parents to bring their children to come watch our Saturday practice and decide if it is right for them.
